Sexually Compulsive Behavior

Compulsive sexual behavior is sometimes called hypersexuality, hypersexuality disorder or sexual addiction. It’s an excessive preoccupation with sexual fantasies, urges or behaviors that is difficult to control, causes you distress, or negatively affects your health, job, relationships or other parts of your life.

Keystone Center ECU Sexual Addiction Treatment

Physical Care

Physical Care includes a medical evaluation of physical problems and complications. The medical and counseling staff members work together to observe, evaluate, and treat the physical needs of the resident.

Psychiatric Services

Psychiatric consultations, including an initial psychiatric evaluation and follow-up visits, are available as a part of treatment. Services in this area include diagnostic evaluation, individual therapy, medication management, and on-call availability. Upon admission to the program, all medications are turned into the admitting staff.

Sexual Health Assessment

Each resident will complete an intensive sexual health assessment. The assessment will result in a sexual dependency inventory, as well as a trauma profile. Confidential HIV testing is available for clients while in the program. Medical assessment and management of sexually transmitted diseases is also available.

Continuing Care

In treatment planning, the residents are evaluated in terms of their long-term care needs and goals. Those, which cannot be accomplished within one to three months of treatment, become goals for the continuing care plan. Goal planning will provide the discharged resident with a significant support system to address the long-term needs of their recovery. Resources for continued treatment are identified within the resident’s home community and referrals are facilitated as appropriate.
